Art Cornell is an acclaimed photographer, poet, and abstract artist whose works reside in private and corporate collections throughout the United States. He is known for using bold colors and multi-layered textures to create his abstract compositions and representational works of art.
ARTISTIC STYLE: Cornell employs a distinctive abstract style, working in various mediums, including acrylics, pencil, and collage. He views art not just as a profession but as a method for understanding and communicating meaning through materials and colorful images.
INSTRUCTOR EXPERIENCE: Cornell is a recognized art instructor who has offered a variety of classes, workshops and private lessons at the Art Academy of Hilton Head. In addition, he taught several art classes at the Allendale Correctional Facility in South Carolina.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: Cornell has a strong history of community engagement. He was an integral part of the art program at Memory Matters, an organization that supports individuals with early-onset dementia. While volunteering there as an art instructor, he received certification in Cognitive Art Expression.
OTHER WORKS: During his career, Cornell has authored five books of poetry and contributed his writings to numerous regional publications. In addition, he has judged several art shows and served as a long-time automotive judge at the Hilton Head Island Concours d'Elegance & Motoring Festival.
